These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Positive Start Puppies. By booking a consultation, programme or training session, you agree to these terms.
1. Our Philosophy
Positive Start Puppies uses kind, ethical and evidence-based training methods based on positive reinforcement.
We do not use or recommend punishment-based training methods, including the use of shock collars, prong collars, choke chains or other aversive techniques.

Bookings are confirmed once payment or the agreed deposit has been received.
Programme spaces are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
3. Payment
Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
Programme fees must be paid in full before the programme begins.
Payment plans may be available for selected programmes.
4. Cancellations
Private appointments may be rescheduled with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.
Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged in full.
If Positive Start Puppies needs to cancel or rearrange a session, an alternative appointment will be offered as soon as possible.

Owners must ensure their puppy or dog is fit and healthy to participate.
Please inform us before your appointment if your puppy has:
- Vomiting or diarrhoea
- A contagious illness
- A recent injury
- Pain or mobility concerns
- Behavioural changes
- Veterinary restrictions
Training may be postponed if participation could compromise welfare.
6. Vaccinations
Puppies should have received vaccinations appropriate for their age in accordance with veterinary guidance.
Owners remain responsible for following their own veterinary advice.
7. Behavioural Information
Clients agree to provide accurate information regarding their puppy’s behaviour, medical history and previous training.
This allows us to provide the safest and most appropriate recommendations.
8. Owner Responsibility
Training success depends on consistent practice between sessions.
Positive Start Puppies provides guidance, coaching and personalised training plans, but cannot guarantee specific behavioural outcomes.
9. Children
Children are welcome where appropriate but remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian throughout the session.
10. Photography & Media
Photographs or videos may occasionally be taken during sessions for educational or promotional purposes.
We will always ask for your permission before sharing any identifiable images.
You may withdraw your consent at any time.
11. Liability
While every reasonable care is taken to ensure the safety of clients and their puppies, participation is at the owner’s own risk.
Positive Start Puppies accepts no responsibility for injury, illness, loss or damage except where required by law.
Owners remain responsible for the actions of their puppy at all times.
12. Veterinary & Professional Referrals
Where appropriate, Positive Start Puppies may recommend that a client seeks advice from their veterinary surgeon, veterinary physiotherapist, behaviourist or another qualified professional.
